Why Won't You Close The Door?
Once upon a time, there was a husband and wife that fought day and night. They were known as Mr and Mrs Randerson. They lived in a small village and earned a living by farming live stock. They squabbled over everything, and disagreed on everything, and even made so much noise that the neighbors couldn't stand them for they caused such a commotion.
Scene 1 (The Fight)
Mr Randerson puts on his T-Shirt and notices a big yellow stain.
Mr Randerson: Wife!! Why is my clothing still dirty? You obviously didn't do a good job washing it properly!! You are so careless sometimes!!
Mrs Randerson was reading a book on a chair and hops to her feet indignantly after hearing her husband's words.
Mrs Randerson : What the ? Hey! Its not my fault! Blame the detergent if you will, not me! Besides, who's the careless one for getting the stain on the shirt in the first place? You know I had to scrub half dead to remove that annoying stain? You ungrateful pig!!”
Mr Randerson (gapes and throws the t-shirt on the floor with rage) : What ? I'm an ungrateful pig am I? How dare you! I'm your husband!!”
Mrs Randerson (Rolls her eyes and folds her arms) : Yeah right. With that quick temper of yours, you're lucky I'm such a cool and calm person.
Mr Randerson(snorts derisively) : Tch... Your temper is WORSE than mine...
Mrs Randerson(glares at her husband): That's because you drive me up the wall!
Mr Randerson (swivels around in rage) : YOU!!!
Both of them continue sauabbling for hours and hours. Suddenly a cold breeze blew in.

Scene 2(The Bet)
Mr Randerson: Why didn't you close the door? Shivers. Close it before a thief gets in!! Go now!!
Mrs Randerson (stared at him with disbelief) : The last person that came in after tending the farm was you!! You opened it, so you close it!!
Mr Randerson (startled and tried to think of a comeback. Finally, he came up with a brilliant idea ) :Wife, we aren't getting anywhere like this. Why don't we make a bet. We are to keep silent and sit down, and the first person to talk is to shut the door. Agreed?
Mrs Randerson : That's a stupid bet(snorts derisively)... but ( shrugs ) If u say so...
Hence, both of them sat down and glared at each other, but not one of them moving an inch. The cold wind continued to blew in, and as luck would have it... they were indeed 'visited' by a 'someone'... that would prove his encounter a rather interesting one...

Scene 3 (The Thief)
Hours flew by and the stubborn couple still sat opposite each other, no longer glaring at each other as their eyes were already dreary and watery.
A thief who happened to venture into the night looking for a house to rob noticed a door wide open and unlocked and decided to grab this golden opportunity to sneak in and steal something.
Thief : (pokes his head in and glances around) Hello? Anybody home?
Mr Randerson : ( Tries to motion his wife to do something but freezes when the thief turns around)
Thief : Hello? Oh? Someone is home? I’m sorry to drop by then. (scratches his head when he sees the silent couple)
Thief : (waves his hands in front of Mr Randerson’s face but still no reaction)
Mrs Randerson : ( Motions to her husband to a stick lying on the floor but freezes as well as the thief swivels around abruptly)
Thief: Oh? Are you playing a game? (Notices the stick on the floor and then picks it up) and snickers evilly.
Mrs Randerson’s : (Eyes widen in fright)
The thief then slowly encountered Mrs Randerson and gets ready to swing the stick at her head. Mr Randerson, out of fear that the stranger might harm his wife, leaps up and wrestles the stick away from the thief.
Mr Randerson : Don’t you dare hurt my wife!! Out you go!!
Mrs Randerson: (shocked at first then suddenly recalls the bet) Aha! You are the first to talk, now you close the door!!
Both Mr Randerson and the thief gapes at her. Mr Randerson actually drops the stick in amazement. Mrs Randerson shrugs, then temper flaring up, chases both her husband and the thief out of the house.

THE END

Moral: Sometimes we let petty things get into our way until we forget our main objective. Therefore we should not always be too stubborn and learn how to give and take.
