Depression? On drugs? How do music help those who are having these issues?

I'm not sure if you've heard this, but it might be that favourite tune that tingles your whole body? You also break down when you hear it. It could be something like 'We Don't Talk Anymore -Charlie Puth' or another sad love song. However, this song made my eyes swell with tears when I heard them. I do not know why, but I knew one thing. Music is powerful.

Actually, to tell the truth, I have a relative that has depression. He likes guitar, and plays violin and piano as well. Music aids you to express your feelings. If you cry when you turn on your 'music player', it doesnt matter. You need to heal your own feelings.

Next, music actually enkindles creativity. You might be a freelance writer, or need to design new stuff on your web, but no inspiration at all? Pump on the beat. If you like the old hip hop song like Low by Flo Rida, you might suddenly hop up and start to dance. Research states that songs inspire creativity when your brain processes the musical notes. Music therapy, added to standar levels of medication, psychotherapy and counselling. It also improves depression's level.

Likewise, music has the ability to make your heart beat accelerate or slow down. Same goes for your breathing. You feel your body sway when you feel music. If you don't feel minimal effects when you hear music, try going to a concert. Whether or not you're a Beliber – Bieber fan or going to crash a 'Taylor Swift' concert, you will feel the like of the music.

Besides, music is also used to treat addiction. If you are recovering from substance abuse? It can be a useful mechanism in the healing process. Addiction is a horrible illness that affects the entire family and their close friends. Help is achievable and new ways are used to treat the patient are being discovered.

Moreover, music can also prevent suicide. Darrel Mcdaniel, suddenly decided to commit suicide. However, when he heard Sarah McLachlan's song, he decided to continue living. He also used his new music to promote adoption and homeless children. He found a cause for living again just because of one song.

Further, music reduces your pain. There are lyrics and melodies that are an effective therapy for pain management. Chronic pain reduce from painful conditions by listening to music by twenty percent. It distracts the patients and makes their body counteract pain by releasing endorphins.

Make sure that you put the right songs in your song list. Dont put sad songs that bring back bad memories. Put some happy songs that bring in sunshine into your head.

There was also a therapy that diagnosed depression between age 18 to 50. Out of 33 patients, 50% of them were showing a big improvement  in their depression. Music therapy are in both receptive or active forms. These are patients without prior musical background or abilities. In the active music therapy, the therapist and the patient slowly improvise their own music. The aim is to make them share thoughts that arise with the making of music and develop insight for their problems.

During receptive therapy, patients listen to the melody and meditate at the same time. The process allows better mood behaviour for the patient to develop your relaxed mind.

In conclusion, music therapy comes in many forms and helps depressed people. People that suffer from depression ought to be given music therapy. Try it out. It might help.
