Do I Need To Improve Myself? Self-Improvement Tips
How do I self-improve?
As a 21st century lady, I would say the society
pressures us to be perfect. We are supposed to have nice cars, have 200 likes
on our posted Facebook photos, have a compatible looking partner, etc etc.
How do
we self-improve? In our personal growth type. Not just on the surface. Im
talking about talking off those sun-glasses and those Pradas, ladies and
gentle-maan. That’s what I meant.
First
off, we should also pick up a book and flip a few pages. Books are the centre
of knowledge. We should read more and more as we age. Try books like Think and
Grow Rich, The Secret, The Law of Attraction etc. The more you read, the more
knowledge you gain. You get better grammar and vocabulary after reading books
of the same language consistently after five to ten years, trust me. I had
peers that couldn’t understand why my English was above them in school. The
reason was I read thick books since young days.
Next,
learn a new language, I am a Malaysian Chinese. I know a few languages, Malay,
Chinese, English and Hokkien. Although Im a Chinese, I was brought up in an
English speaking family. My mother didn’t know Chinese, so I would say that
among these few languages Chinese was the weakest. However, I decided to take
up Korean and French classes as a hobby and interest. If it is a whole new
skill altogether, and you will not regret it.
Furthermore,
pick up a new hobby. Learn a new hobby. Drawing? Knitting? Cross-stitch?
Gardening? Cooking? Anything? How about a music class or art class? Music
increases confidence and it also adds to your value. You can try cooking as
well. Perhaps French cooking? Que voulez-vous manger aujourd'hui, monsieur?
What would you like to eat today, sir? As for music classes, if increases your
self-confidence and self-value. Besides that, you can pick up dancing. Salsa?
Ladies a great way to gain a figure eight body. People think dancers as
entertainers as shallow, but I think that dancers have a great physique, agree?
Next,
go for a new course. Interior design? How about gardening? Wedding planner?
Anything at all. I didn’t like the shabby way I was a year ago, so I decided to
self-improve by doing all these stuff. It was a race against another female,
which I felt in competition with.
Besides,
level up your skills. If you’re good at cooking. Level up. If you’re good at
sewing, time to level up. You should keep your old skills on the next level and
keep trying new ones. It’s not the slogan live to impress but more like adding
to your personal value. Try public speaking.
Lastly,
write a letter to yourself. Put a date on it and seal it up to be read in the
future.
Dear
Me,
I want
to be a successful interior designer from one year from now with a five figure
salary.
I will have a large network of people that I know, and also
my own business name card.
I will have personal growth as well. I will be wiser, and
also richer.
That concludes for today. Thanks for reading! Tune in again
soon!
